Our History Booklist for Adventures In America

We have enjoyed some of the lessons in the past in the history curriculum, Adventures In America.  I went through and lined up the American history books that we have to the weekly lesson plans in Adventure In America.  This really makes it a rich literature program!!

Note:  Adventures In America does have chapter books, picture books, and readers listed for each week.  I just wanted to add in the books that I have purchased.  So the below booklist is not needed for Adventures In America but I thought I would share it if you are looking for more book choices to add.

I picked up most of these books at homeschool curriculum sales, Goodwill, or used homeschool sites online.  We did purchase the D'Aulaire books from Beautiful Feet Books new but I'm sure if you search you may find these gently used as well.

The numbers before the books are the weeks that they will be read while using Adventures In America.

I have considered just reading through this list of books as an easy to implement K/1st history curriculum.  I definitely think at this age exposure is the best thing I can do for the content subjects.  They may not remember details of the books that we read but later on when we dig more deeply into some of American history hopefully some of the names and/or places will sound familiar.

Do any of you just have a "booklist" for history or other content subjects??
